Vernon Bagby Obituary

Mr. Vernon Eugene Bagby was born December 11, 1940 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Beckham and Lela Acree Bagby. He departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Kentucky, having attained the age of seventy-two years, one month and thirteen days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and served as deacon, trustee and held other various positions at the Greensburg Baptist Church. He was a former Green County Judge and Funeral Director and Embalmer at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: James, Ellis and Rupert Bagby and Dimple Mosz. He was united in marriage to Elva Jo Rodgers Bagby, who survives.

He is survived by one brother and sister-inlaw: Jr. and Clydene Bagby; one sister: Lassie Schmidt and brother-in-law: Eugene Mosz all of Campbellsville, Kentucky; two sister-in-laws: Billie Bagby of Colorado; Shirley Bagby of Greensburg, Kentucky; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Naomi Ruth Rodgers of Campbellsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jerry Wayne and Anita Rodgers of Campbellsville, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Eugene Bagby will be conducted 2 p.m., Central Time, Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Greensburg Baptist Church with Bro. Blake Jessie and Bro. Todd Young officiating. Burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. 

Visitation is requested after 5 p.m., Central Time, Saturday, January 27, 2013 and after 7 a.m. Sunday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home & after 12 noon Sunday at Greensburg Baptist Church.
