Gale Perry Obituary

Gale Mitchell Perry, born November 19, 1948, to Edgar Mitchell and Emma Knight Perry of Tucson, Az., and Greensburg, Ky., died March 2, 2022, in Orlando, Fl. Where he had been living out his retirement with his blessed wife of nearly 52 years, Janice K. (Werch) Perry. Gale was born in Tucson, Arizona, graduated from Pueblo High School, the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and Campbellsville University with a master’s degree in Education. After working for many years in Ajo, Az. For Phelps-Dodge in the copper industry, Gale left corporate America to become a teacher so he could spend more time with his children, Robin Christine (Stephen) Humphress and Jeffery Mitchell (Tracie) Perry. Survived by his wife and children, Gale also leaves behind a beloved adopted daughter, Andrea Christine (Ian) Quanchi and family of Australia, and seven (7) most dear grandchildren, Phillip Scott Keyes (Mackenzie) Humphress, Logan Chase Grant, Logan Mitchell Perry, Silas Andrew Gale Humphress, Gaubrielle Maykay Humphress, Emma Christine Humphress, and Logan Justice Perry, as well as two (2) beautiful great-grandchildren, Lillie Kate Mackae Humphress and Rowan Lee Grey Humphress. Their “Poppy” will be sorely missed. Gale is also survived by his dearly loved sisters, Elizabeth Miller of Tucson, Az., and Shirley (Arthur) Robinson of Norfolk, Va., along with many nephews, nieces and scores of grieving friends and relations from around the country. Gale was born again into the family of Christ as a young teen and was a follower of Jesus as his Lord and a lifelong student of the Word of God for the remainder of his days on this earth. Gale’s legacy to this world is the many prayers he lifted up on behalf of his family and friends, his stand for righteousness and his “I love you more” insistence for all those that knew him. Even as his family cries tears of grief at his passing, they know that he is crying tears of joy to be in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords who was and is and is to come.
