Roy Edward Hackle of the Fry Community of Green County, KY and Bradenton, Florida, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on May 29, 1948, Moultrie , Georgia, Roy lived a life marked by dedication to service and a passion for community.
Roy's notable career spanned over 30 years with the Manatee County Sheriffs Office, where he earned respect and admiration for his commitment to law enforcement and public safety. His professional journey was complemented by his educational achievements, including his graduation from the esteemed FBI Academy, which equipped him with the skills to excel in his role as a deputy sheriff.
In addition to his distinguished career, Roy served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS America. This experience not only shaped his perspective on life but also deepened his patriotism and commitment to his country. He was a member of the James L Pruitt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5813, Greensburg, KY.
Roy was a devoted member of the Bayside North River Church and the Living Word Faith Center in Greenburg, Kentucky, where he actively contributed to the spiritual growth of his community. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, inspiring those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Hackle and Dorothy Butler-Hackle; his sisters, Shirley Bennett and Pee Wee Pasciak; and brother, James Wesley Hackle, whose legacy he carried with pride throughout his life.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Hackle; his son, George McCorkle (Lindsay); his daughters, Michelle Coronado (Chepillo), Donna Hackle, and Theresa Talbot; and his brother, James Hackle (Diane). He also leaves behind his sisters, Geraldine Williams, Glenda Hancock, Diane Tovor, Blue Hackle, and Debra Banks (Tim), along with a multitude of extended family members, including nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Roy Edward Hackle's impact on his family, friends, and community will be felt for generations to come. His dedication, love, and unwavering spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
