Lawrence Edward Walsh was the son of the late William and Lena Smith Walsh. He was born in Taylor County, KY on February 9, 1946, and departed this life on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville, having attained the age of seventy-nine years, eleven months and six days of age.

He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville. He was a member of the SAC Elite Guard Association, and enjoyed farming, hiking, hunting and traveling.

He was a Vietnam Veteran of the AirForce having served from 1964 through 1967. He had a Master’s Degree and was a retired Police Chief of Lexington..

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law: Randy Pridemore; a brother: Robert Walsh; and a sister: Pat Blakeman.

He is survived by his wife: Teresa Wolbert Walsh of Greensburg; daughters: Jeanette Pridemore of Lexington, Pam Loope and her husband Greg of Wilmore; a step-son: Regis Pearson and Alyssa Olewick of Maryland; five grandchildren: Matthew Williams of Lexington, Christian Williams of Lexington, Jacob Pridemore of Cincinnati Ohio, Megan Shimizu of Lexington, and Caitlin Loope of Lexington; two brothers and one sister: Louie Walsh of Clinton Township, Michigan, Rose Anne Bertram and her husband Bill of Fort Thomas, KY and William Walsh II and his wife Denise of Campbellsville and his special cat: Friskie; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass for Lawrence Edward Walsh will be held Monday, January 19, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help  in Campbellsville, KY at 11AM EASTERN TIME, with Father George officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family has requested visitation on Sunday, January 18, 2026, beginning at 6PM EASTERN TIME until 8PM EASTERN TIME at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home.

A prayer service will be held at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home on Sunday at 8 PM EASTERN TIME with Deacon Jimmy Richerson officiating.
