Gretchen Germaine Cobb of Campbellsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at Norton’s Hospice Pavilion, surrounded by love and the comforting presence of her family. She was 65 years old.

Born on August 13, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Gretchen was the beloved daughter of the late Norman Cobb and is survived by her devoted mother, Eliza Ann Cobb. From a young age, Gretchen displayed a quiet strength, a deep sense of faith, and a gentle spirit that touched all who knew her.

She gave her life to Christ early and became a member of the Broadway Church of Christ. After relocating to Louisville, she continued her walk with God as a member of the Westport Road Church of Christ, where her faith remained a cornerstone of her life.

Gretchen had a lifelong love for learning and graduated from Green County High School in 1977. She pursued higher education at Sullivan University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration followed by a Master’s in Human Resources. A dedicated and hardworking professional, Gretchen spent 16 years at Masonic Homes in Louisville—serving as a dietary supervisor for 10 years and later as a maintenance supervisor for six—until her health began to decline.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially cooking and fishing, two passions that brought her peace and connected her to loved ones across generations.

Gretchen’s memory will be cherished by her mother, Eliza Ann Cobb; her sister, Sally Nurse (Bruce) of Indianapolis, IN; and her two nieces, Staci Nurse of Lexington, KY, and Sharee Nurse of Grand Rapids, MI. She also leaves behind two special aunts, Letha Johnson of Campbellsville and Myrtle Wynn of Greensburg; and an uncle, James Williams of Lexington.

Gretchen’s circle of love extended to her dear cousins who stood by her side through every season—Kaye Curle, Melanie Embry, Patricia Mountain, Kamarra Barnett, Nora Thornton, Beverly Calhoun, Carolyn Ingram, Gary Compton, and Arvin Cobb—as well as her friend, Darnell Watkins and special caretaker Margo Carey.

Gretchen’s life was one of quiet faith, devotion to family, and strength in the face of trials. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
