George Johnson, JR

George Johnson Jr. was born March 28, 1934 in Green County, KY to the late Willie Clarence Johnson and Rosie Taylor Johnson. He departed this life Friday, May 1, 2026 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, having attained the age of 92 years, 1 month and 4 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist Faith. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers:  Clarence, Charlie, Roy and Otha Johnson, sisters:  Mary Bell Baker, Margaret Anderson, and a special friend Doris Bridgewater.

He is survived by his daughter: Christy Davis of Louisville, and her three children with a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for George Johnson Jr. will be 12 noon Eastern Time Monday, May 11, 2026 at The First Baptist Church, 704 East Broadway in Campbellsville with Rev. Michael Caldwell and Rev. Tyrone Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in the Summersville Community of Green County.

The visitation will be 9 a.m. Eastern Time until 12 Noon Eastern Time Monday, May 11, 2026 at The First Baptist Church in Campbellsville.
