Andrew Adams Rakes was born January 3, 1962, to the late Bobby Neal and Gladys Francis Pittman George. He departed this life on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, having attained the age of sixty-three years, eight months, and twenty-four days of age.
He was of the Catholic faith, obtained a bachelor’s degree and was a retired pharmacy technician at UK Hospital.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one son: Andrew Rakes II; and his brother: William Jason Rakes.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Amber and Chris Berry of Summersville, stepfather: Jimmy George of Greensburg, brothers: Nicholas Rakes and Frankie George of Greensburg, Neal Rakes and his wife Kim of Missouri; and one sister: Beth George of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Crista, Adam, Luke and Daniel Copeland all of Naples Florida and Gracie Copeland of Summersville, KY; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements for Andrew Adams Rakes will be held Thursday October 2, 2025, at 11AM Central Time at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Clifton Sullivan with burial to follow at Bennett Cemetery, in the Gabe Community of Green County. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 5PM until 8PM Central time and after 7AM on Thursday until time of the service at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home.
The family has requested donations to the Family Funeral Fund and those can be made at the funeral home.
